Risks of Using Text Messaging for Health Information:

Security Concerns: Text messages may not be encrypted, making them vulnerable to interception or unauthorized access during transmission. This can result in the potential disclosure of sensitive health information to unintended recipients.

Lack of Confidentiality: Text messages may be stored on personal devices, which may not be fully secure. If your device is lost, stolen, or accessed by others, confidential health information could be exposed.

Inadvertent Disclosure: There is a risk of accidentally sending health information to the wrong recipient, especially if the contact information is incorrect or if you are not mindful of your message’s content.

Limitations of Text Communication: Text messaging does not allow for real-time encryption of sensitive information and may lack the same level of security as other communication methods specifically designed for protected health information (PHI).

    My Commitment to Your Privacy:

At Restoration Counseling LLC, we take your privacy seriously and follow strict guidelines to protect your personal health information. While we offer a range of communication options, including text messaging, we encourage you to consider these risks before sharing sensitive health information via text.

For any health-related matters or urgent communication, we recommend using my secure portal, calling my office directly, or using email with encrypted services, when appropriate. If you must communicate via text message, please understand that while I take reasonable precautions, there are inherent risks, and by proceeding, you consent to this method of communication.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the security of your information, please do not hesitate to contact my office for guidance on the best ways to communicate securely.

Thank you for trusting Restoration Counseling LLC with your care. I am here to ensure your privacy and security at all times.
